To develop Hyderabad into a world-class tourism hub, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has sought details regarding key projects in the city.

The areas surrounding Buddha statue in Hyderabad will be transformed into tourist spots with world-class infrastructure. These areas will also have food stalls and other kiosks to give tourists an enhanced experience.

Besides, the government also planned the beautification of nearby places.

The Revanth Reddy government has also considered a skywalk that traverses through areas like Telangana Martyrs Memorial, Necklace Road, and Sanjeevaiah Park.

The CM is also keen on developing the state into a Buddhist tourism hub and as a part of this initiation, the Buddhavanam at Nagarjunasagar will be developed into a spiritual destination, eventually boosting tourism.

Further, the Nagarjunasagar dam will also lead to beautification shortly.

Also, plans are afoot to bring Buddha statue to Hyderabad and other historical Buddhist sites of Phanigiri, and Nelakondapalli, along with the Nagarjunasagar site, into a single Buddhist tourism circuit.

The funding for the same will be taken care of by the central government scheme Swadeshi Darshan 2.0.

According to reports from Times of India, Telangana CM emphasised the establishment of an International Buddha Museum in Buddhavanam, and a DPR on the same has been sent to the central government, requesting an amount of Rs 25 crore for setting up the museum and exhibition, among others.
